Kyle Hoover - Lead Pastor
Kyle has been in ministry since 1998, serving on large and small church staffs and college campus-based ministries. He and his wife, Christine, have been married since 2000 and have three very energetic boys: Will, Reese, and Luke. His passions are in the areas of personal discipleship, missions, and family ministry. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Texas A&M University and received his Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Kyle enjoys running, reading, golf, and traveling.
Kyle’s wife, Christine, is a stay-at-home mom and author. She enjoys serving alongside her husband in ministry, especially in areas of hospitality and discipleship. Other passions include reading, decorating, and time with friends over a good cup of coffee.
Bill Bray - Associate Pastor, Elder
Along with Kyle, Bill is a founding pastor/elder of CCC. Bill has a passion to teach the Word of God in such a way that it causes people to discover who Jesus really is and the joy and hope that He offers to each one of us! Bill graduated from Texas A&M (Gig ‘em) with a degree in Industrial Engineering and received his Masters in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He and his wife Tara were married in 2016 and love married life. When they are not working on some remodeling project at home, Tara and Bill love spending time with friends, watching Fixer Upper, and hanging out at the lake.
Matt Brumbelow - Elder
Matt grew up in Nebraska, Texas, and Kenya before moving to Charlottesville in 1998 to attend UVa. Shortly before graduating he met and fell in love with his wife Jessica, who graciously agreed to marry him. Matt now works as a researcher with a non-profit highway safety organization. He and Jessica have been blessed with four kids and their family has been a part of CCC since early 2010. Matt gets excited about seeing God transform his own life and the lives of others through the truth revealed in Scripture, and desires to be part of a church body where all the members realize their calling as full-time ministers of the gospel, whatever their vocation.
Jessica enjoys being at home with her four kids. Hiking, cooking, gardening, speaking French, and snail mail are some of her favorite pastimes. Jessica likes having others in her home and being able to connect with other families in her neighborhood. Though she’s proud of being born in Rhode Island, Jessica has lived most of her life in the state of Virginia.
Louis DeLaura - Elder
Louis and his late wife, Claire, along with their six children moved to Charlottesville in 2004 from Houston, Texas, where he was a faculty member in the School of Architecture at Rice University. He has a BA from Columbia University and a Masters of Architecture from Rice. He has also pursued post-graduate work at the College of Biblical Studies-Houston. Louis has taught and served in local churches since his coming to faith in 1983 and has a passion for developing a biblical worldview in others, as well as encouraging parenting as a discipleship process. He enjoys a good film, good coffee, travel, and spending time with his children.
Tripp Otto - Elder
Tripp and his wife Aili were born and raised in Minnesota. He graduated from West Point in 2003 and married Aili six months later. The army has moved them to Washington State, Georgia, Minnesota, North Carolina, and finally here to beautiful Charlottesville. Tripp is a JAG officer, and currently teaches International Law at the JAG school. Tripp and Aili, along with their seven children, have been attending CCC since the very first Sunday they moved here in June 2014. Tripp enjoys encouraging other believers to apply biblical truths to their everyday lives. As he is wrangling his kids, Tripp also loves deadlifting, gardening, raising chickens, chainsaws, books, and good coffee.
Aili stays at home and homeschools their children. She is passionate about encouraging other moms, practicing hospitality, cooking, and exercising for sanity.
Tim Roland - Elder
Tim and his wife Karen have been members of Charlottesville Community Church since 2014 and members of the
greater Charlottesville community since relocating to the area with their three daughters in 1995. Tim is a civil engineer by degree and studied at the University of Memphis (BS) and Christian Brothers University (MEM). Tim has been in the construction management field his entire career. He is blessed to spend his days working with the renovation and construction activities of the University of Virginia. Karen, a native of central Mississippi and a licensed physical therapist, studied at Ole Miss (BS) and VCU (DPT). She works I home health. Tim and Karen were married in 1988 and together they have raised three daughters. As a couple, they share a passion for gardening, their children and all their interests, teaching God’s Word and encouraging believers to live out their faith. As a couple and individually, they have lead Bible studies for singles, young couples, and youth. They are devoted to the biblical model of discipleship and community upheld at CCC.
Jack Taggart - Elder
Jack grew up in Alabama. He married Libby in 1967 and they moved to Charlottesville In 1969. They have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. He graduated from Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama with a BA degree in accounting and has a law degree from the University of Virginia. He and Libby have been attending CCC since about 2013. His passion is being intentional about his walk with God and seeking to serve Him wherever and whenever He calls. Among other things, he has felt called to shepherd young men and has done so for over 15 years. Jack and Libby love to practice their gifts of hospitality as well as travel, boating on the Chesapeake Bay and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Libby has been involved in women's ministry for over 27 years and has helped teach a woman's Bible study for over 15 years. She is passionate about serving others and encouraging women, in the church or without, in their various roles, especially young wives and mothers.
Joseph Holm - Worship & College Pastor
Joseph has led worship at CCC since 2010. Hailing from the back woods of East Texas, Joseph loves the Dallas Mavericks, Kurt Vonnegut, and working to put grace into words. In 2015, Joseph released his first album, God of the Sea and the Sea Monster. Joseph met his wife Allison in Charlottesville, and they were married in 2016. The two share a deep love for the humanities, and count reading together at Shenandoah Joe and walking the downtown mall among their favorite amusements.
Melissa Healy - Operations Director
Serving on staff since 2011, Melissa has a passion for detail, strategic planning, number-crunching, and helping others. She and her husband, John, married in 2002 and moved from their home state of Ohio to Charlottesville with their twin sons in 2007. The Healy family has been a part of CCC since 2009. Melissa enjoys Bikram yoga, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
