What we are about

Worship: Responding to the Gospel

First and foremost we want to be a church that loves the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. The Bible says that God demonstrated His love to us in this, that even though we are sinners, Jesus Christ came to die for us! How incredible is that? It is this love that demands a response from us. We believe worship is not just the times we gather together as a body, but it is the way that we as individuals choose to live every area of our lives in passionate obedience to God as a response to this incredible news.

Community: Authenticating the Gospel

Back in the very beginning God said that it was not good for man to be alone. We are convinced that life is best lived out in authentic community with other believers. As a matter of fact, Jesus says that the way we live our lives loving each other is the greatest proof that He really has come and brought about change in our lives. We desire to be a church where people are loved and cared for and free to open up about their hurts and hang-ups without any fear of judgment or condemnation.

Discipleship: Living out the Gospel

Many churches these days seem to be filled with people whom Jesus appears to have had relatively little effect on their lives. It is no wonder that many folks then see no need to be involved in the church. We believe that true reconciliation to God through Jesus Christ should produce transformation in our lives resulting in living like Jesus would have lived – loving God, loving people, and sharing the good news of this Gospel. We believe that this transformation happens best when people are committed to life on life relationships where the truths of God’s Word are best applied to our lives.

Evangelism: Sharing the Gospel

We believe this message of the gospel is the greatest news anyone could ever receive. Unfortunately, many people in our city, and our state, in our country, and around the world have no idea that there is a God who loves them and who has made a way for them to know Him personally through the death of His Son Jesus. We want to be a church that lovingly takes this message of hope and abundant life to the city and people of Charlottesville and ultimately to the ends of the earth!
